Sonic Cyborgs: FemTech ‘n the Studio

As part of Brigit 2022, I conceived, wrote and produced a short film, which was directed by artist Eavan Aiken. Sonic Cyborgs is a ten minute film about the visibility of women and non-binary creatives working with technology to make music.

Pop stars Ariana Grande, Björk, Chlöe Bailey and Charli XCX, along with iconic Irish producers Dreamgirls (Michelle Doyle and Clíona Ní Laoi), Ellll, Fehdah and Roo Honeychild invite us into their recording studios, their FemTech lairs. The film captures these cyborgs manipulating and organising electricity into sonic power.

The Funnel Generation: Irish Electronic Music’s Coming of Age

This was an article I wrote with fellow DJ, the Golden Maverick, about the effect of the Funnel club, Dublin 1997-99, on Irish electronic music. It was published by RTE CULTURE

The article was written to accompany a mix we did of music by artists associated with the Funnel. The mix is on SHOCK WORLD SERVICE

There are liner notes for the mix at the bottom of the article.
